Ionia Public Schools Bus Safety Video

(616.527.9680)

Dear Parents and Students,

Thank you for allowing us to transport your child! The majority of our district students- or about 1600 children of all ages are transported 3400 miles each day and safety is always a top priority! We travel over 525,000 miles per year incorporating all routes, field trips, and athletic events.

We strongly encourage each parent to discuss with their child the importance of facing forward and staying in their seat so we are always able to get our precious cargo home safe and sound. We want your child to experience a safe and enjoyable ride each day. Their bus ride is an extension of the classroom. The driver has the same authority on the as a teacher in the classroom. They will learn things like being on time, following rules, sharing, kindness to others and much more.

Our Transportation Department team of experienced professional bus drivers, para-pros, mechanics, dispatcher and office personnel are dedicated to the safe and efficient transportation of all passengers. Please take a minute and check out the other areas on our Transportation web pages about Bus Discipline, Responsibility of Students, Student Safety, and School Walk Zones that have all been adopted by the Iona Public School Board of Education.

Wishing everyone a great new school year here at Ionia Public Schools!
